Terms of Use
Written in plain language so you can actually read them.
By using The Khoji, you agree to these terms. They cover who runs the platform, what you and businesses can post, how bookings work, and how we handle disputes.
1. Who we are
The Khoji is operated by Ujjwol Kayastha, an individual based in Banepa, Nepal. We plan to register a Pvt. Ltd. once volume justifies it; until then the platform runs under sole proprietorship.
2. Your account
You sign in with email or Google. Keep your sign-in method secure. One person, one account. If you also represent a business, the same account claims that business; no separate "business account" needed.
3. Reviews and content
- You own what you post. You give us a non-exclusive licence to display it on the platform.
- Reviews must be based on a genuine first-hand experience.
- No abuse, hate speech, harassment, or doxxing. See the Content Policy.
- We may hide, edit, or remove content that violates these rules, including content scored low by our automated trust systems.
4. Bookings and money
- A confirmed booking is a contract between you and the business. The Khoji is the booking interface, not the service provider.
- Deposits and refunds are processed via Khalti or eSewa. We never hold your card or wallet PIN. The payment processor's terms govern payment specifics.
- See the Booking Policy for cancellation, refunds, and disputes.
5. Owners and listings
- You may claim a listing only if you own the business or are authorised to act on its behalf. False claims are rejected and may result in account suspension.
- You're responsible for the accuracy of details on your claimed listing: hours, prices, services, photos.
- We may correct factual details if a customer reports an inaccuracy with evidence (e.g. an actually-correct phone number).
6. Acceptable use
Don't scrape the site, automate excessive requests, attempt to bypass authentication, post commercial spam disguised as reviews, or impersonate other users or businesses.
7. Termination
You can delete your account from settings at any time. We can suspend accounts that violate these terms. Public reviews you wrote may remain visible (anonymised) at our discretion, so other customers keep the signal you contributed.
8. Liability
The platform is provided as-is. We aren't liable for the quality of the meal, the punctuality of the plumber, or the friendliness of the receptionist. We will, however, ensure the booking system itself works as documented or refund any deposit collected through it.
9. Governing law
Disputes are governed by the laws of Nepal. Courts in Kathmandu have exclusive jurisdiction.
10. Changes
We may update these terms. Material changes are announced 14 days in advance via email to signed-in users. Continued use after that period means you accept the change.
